The essentials

1. What is a tracker?

A tracker (or ‘cookie’) is information stored in or read from your browser when you visit a website: this includes cookies in the strict sense, but also local storage (‘localStorage’), the cache of an installable app, and so on. The CNIL’s rules apply to all these methods.

2. Trackers used by Classy

The fonts and maths library are hosted by Classy: loading them does not send any information to a third party.

3. Third-party service trackers

When you choose to pay for a subscription, you are redirected to the Stripe payment page (checkout.stripe.com), which sets its own cookies, necessary for payment security and fraud prevention. Stripe is responsible for these cookies: Stripe’s cookie policy. They are not set on classy.college.

If anti-bot verification is enabled when you create an account, it is provided by Cloudflare Turnstile (challenges.cloudflare.com), which reads technical information from your browser solely to distinguish a human from a bot. This security check, limited to the sign-up page, is essential to protecting the service and is not used for any advertising: Turnstile’s privacy policy.

4. Optional trackers

To measure website traffic, each page view is counted by our own server: the page path, the website you came from and your device type (mobile or computer). Nothing is stored on or read from your device, your IP address is not retained, and the fingerprint used to count visitors changes every day: it is impossible to track you from one day to the next or across other websites. These anonymous statistics are used only by Classy, are not shared with anyone and are deleted after 13 months. This measurement meets the conditions for exemption from consent set by the CNIL.

No optional trackers are currently used. The ‘Cookie settings’ panel includes an ‘Audience measurement’ category that is disabled by default: it has no effect until a tool is implemented. If we introduce one, this page will state its name, provider, purpose and duration, and you will be asked for consent again before any tracker is set.
