Discover Classy
What is Classy?
Classy is a web-based revision app for secondary-school and university students: upload your course materials (PDF, PowerPoint, Word, photos of notes or an audio recording) and artificial intelligence analyses them to produce a summary video, a detailed explanation of each concept, quizzes with feedback, mock exams and a revision timetable leading up to your exam.
Who is Classy for?
Secondary-school and university students. When you sign up or upload course materials, you choose your level (lower secondary, upper secondary or university): the vocabulary, examples and quiz difficulty adapt to suit you.
Which subjects work?
Any subject with written or recorded course materials: maths, physics and chemistry, biology and earth sciences, economics and sociology, history and geography, philosophy, law, business management, medicine, languages… Formulae are neatly formatted and graphs are plotted from real equations.
Do I need to install an app?
No: Classy works in your browser, on your phone, tablet or computer. You can also add it to your phone’s home screen as an app, in one click.
Can I try it without creating an account?
Yes: the sample course (‘The market: supply, demand and equilibrium’) is open to everyone, complete with its video, topics, quizzes, mind map and revision sheet.
Upload course materials
Which files can I upload?
One or more files for the same course, mixing formats if you like: PDF, PowerPoint (.pptx), Word (.docx), text, photos of your notes, or an audio recording of the lesson or lecture (MP3, M4A, WAV…, 45 minutes maximum). Up to 20 files per course, 50 MB per file.
How long does the analysis take?
The course outline and summary video are usually ready in 1 to 2 minutes. The topics are then prepared one by one (1 to 3 minutes each): you can start watching the video in the meantime.
How does Classy break down my course?
The AI reads the whole document, identifies the concepts and the links between them, then divides the course into 3 to 12 topics depending on its length, in a logical order. Each topic has its own page, short video and quiz.
What are past papers used for?
You can attach past tests, university exam papers or exercises from your teacher (up to 10 files per course), or paste in questions. Classy uses them as a guide for the format and difficulty of your quizzes and mock exams, and to work out which questions are likely to come up.
Reliability and privacy
Are the explanations reliable?
Classy uses YOUR course materials and shows the page or slide each passage comes from: one click opens the source. If you spot an error, you can report it in one click.
Does Classy do my homework?
No. Classy helps you understand your course and practise: it explains, gets you thinking and marks your answers, but it doesn't do your homework for you.
Do my course materials stay private?
Yes. Your files are stored in a private space that only you can access, and you can delete them at any time, along with your account.
Why do you need an email address?
To sign in (with your username or email) and recover your account if you forget your password. It is never used for advertising. Secondary-school pupils can use a parent's address.
Plans and payment
How much does Classy cost?
Every account starts with a one-month trial with all Pro features, no bank card required. Pro costs 4,99 € per month (or 47,90 € per year) for 12 courses per month, with podcasts, audio, likely exam questions and Anki export; Max costs 14,99 € per month for 30 courses per month and 1 in-depth analysis per month; Group costs 19,99 € per month for 5 accounts, or 4 € per person.
How does the trial month work?
As soon as you sign up, you get a month of Classy Pro, with everything included and no payment card required. Afterwards, you can still view your previously analysed courses, and the course assistant remains free (subject to a usage limit). To analyse new courses and access all the features again, upgrade to Pro.
Which features are exclusive to Pro?
After the trial month: analysis of new courses (12 per month), mock exams, AI-powered exercises and marking, the podcast, audio, likely exam questions, and Anki and Quizlet export. On the free plan, you keep your previously analysed courses and access to the assistant, subject to a usage limit.
What does Max offer?
Max includes everything in Pro, with 30 courses analysed per month instead of 12, three times the AI usage for the assistant and exercises, and 1 in-depth analysis per month: more powerful AI for your most difficult course. Pro subscribers can upgrade to Max at any time from the ‘Plans’ page.
How can I get Pro for free?
Create a referral code for each friend in ‘My account’ (each code can only be used once): your friend gets -20 % off their Pro subscription, and you get -50 % for 3 months once they subscribe.
How does the Group plan work?
A single subscription gives 5 accounts access to the Pro plan. The account holder can add up to 4 friends using their Classy usernames from ‘My account’.
How do I cancel?
With one click from ‘My account’. Your subscription stays active until the end of the paid period, with no further charges.
How do I contact Classy?
From the app, use the ‘Help and contact’ link at the bottom of the page: ask a question, report a problem or suggest an idea, and we’ll reply as soon as possible.
